The Eighth Grade language arts course is designed to foster a love of reading and literature, enrich the students’ critical thinking skills, and improve written and oral communication. Students will be exposed to a variety of novels, plays, short stories, and poetry and have the opportunity to express themselves in many formats as well. In addition, we will study grammar and vocabulary throughout the year. The overall goal of Eighth Grade English is for the students to gain an appreciation of language that will sustain them as lifelong readers and learners.
