I started teaching at Swain in 1988 when my son was in third grade and my daughter was in fifth grade. Before Swain I taught in public schools in Souderton and Springfield Township, for the University of Maryland Abroad, and Northampton Community College. I grew up in Jenkintown, outside of Philadelphia, attended Germantown Friends School for 13 years, graduated from Mount Holyoke College, and received a Masters in Education from Temple University.  One of the highpoints of my life was living in England for four years where I was a member of the Wilbye Singers, a madrigal group that performed all around the area.

When I am not teaching music, I enjoy walking, reading, and swimming. In addition to looking for new music for my students, I go to a lot of music conferences as well as taking graduate courses in the summer.

I am a member of the Philadelphia Orff-Schulwerk Society, Music Educators National Conference, and American Association of University Women.
