Second Grade 2008 - 2009 The historical presidential election of 2008 presented our second graders with the opportunity to run a mock election for the entire Swain School. All the students in kindergarten through eighth grade came to vote with the assistance of our second grade students. The victory of Barack Obama in our mock election was an accurate predictor of what was to come in the national election. The children studied campaign issues and the stance of each candidate on those issues in order to prepare for the election. It was an exciting Election Day in second grade!
